Nine people died when two passenger buses collided at Damauli road on Saturday night.
Six 0f them died on the spot, two others breathed their last on their way to treatment and another one declared dead during treatment, DSP at Damauli District Police Office Bam Dev Gautam said.
The deceased have been identified as Binod Chaudhary, Santosh Chaudhary, Maniratna Chaudharya and Laxmi Adhikari, Muskan Chaudhary, of Udayapur district, Bishal Dhami, Bhim Kumari Tamang of Bara district have been identified. Two other male have yet to be identified.
A bus (Na 5 Kha 5055) belonging to Agni Yatayat heading towards Jhapa from Kathmandu collided with another night bus (Na 5 Kha 4064) bound for Gaighat from Kathmandu.
Of the 31 people injured in the accident, 17 @re receiving medical attention at Chure Hill Hospital in Hetauda, while 14 others returned home after minor treatment.
